Geothermal Research, Center for Experimental Earthsciences, Sandia National Laboratories
Dr. Stephen Bauer is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff and has been at Sandia for more than 35 years. He has led lab and field experimental efforts on many materials including silicon carbide, foams, domal salt, concretes, cements, many lithologies, primarily to develop constitutive models. Bauer is involved with ongoing DOE GTO work with Brookhaven NL on “high tech” cement evaluations at elevated temperature and pressure, with LBNL on lost circulation for geothermal wells and evaluates well integrity issues for the state of CA.
